SAFETY HIGHLIGHTS

+ Accident and incident control procedure

Lanehart has an accident and incident control procedure in place that defines individuals’ roles and responsibilities within the organizational safety program. This allows for the distribution of responsibility for Company safety across the board on a management level which we believe will reinforce the prioritization of safety throughout the Company.

+ New hires to complete safety training orientation

New hires are required to complete safety training orientation either on or prior to their first day on the job. This training is a comprehensive overview of what are considered the most important safety topics applicable to the trade of commercial painting. Employees will learn about workplace hazards they may encounter, how they can be prevented, and where they can find more information on potential hazards. Injury/Illness/Incident reporting protocol is covered so that our workforce can act without hesitation if an injury, illness, or incident occurs. Personal Protective Equipment is reviewed so all employees are educated on what PPE is required in which situation both the preservation of health and safety. Falls are the top workplace safety hazard across all industries - protection against falls is reinforced across our workforce. This includes proper safety protocol when using scaffolding, ladders and lifts when performing work. Ergonomics is also covered in the onboarding process – we hope that education on the proper methods for lifting and handling tools and materials will prevent stains and injuries to the back and body. Our efforts go beyond onboarding safety training – it’s our mission to continue educating our workforce on the most efficient and effective ways to protect themselves, those around them, property, tools and materials.

+ weekly and monthly safety meetings

Perhaps one of the most important aspects of our safety program are our weekly and monthly safety meetings – also termed “Toolbox Meetings”. All employees attend safety meetings each week at the jobsite where different safety topics are discussed with regards to the application of these safety protocols based on the scope of work being performed at the individual job site. Monthly meetings are held at the Lanehart office where topics from these weekly meetings can be brought forth for collective discussions resulting in solutions to potential hazards or issues. We encourage our employees to raise any safety concerns they may have, and it is our policy that they report any safety violations directly to the superintendent or safety director. From these meetings we believe our employees will have the tools necessary to: recognize, avoid and prevent unsafe or hazardous conditions, be aware of and understand the safety regulations in place for particular work assignments, and document incidents.

+ Lanehart’s “Safety Pays” program

Lanehart’s “Safety Pays” program incentivizes employees to continually practice safe habits in the workplace through an annual monetary reward recognizing a period of safe working hours performed. The program has proven to be a successful motivational tool for employees. By continually educating our employees on safe working practices and reinforcing these practices on the job our employees benefit by less lost time from work due to accidents and injuries and lower absenteeism and turnover due to good working conditions and higher morale. Over 30% of our workforce has been with the Company for over 10 years, and nearly 60% of those people have been with the Company for over 20 years. We are committed to a team-oriented workplace culture where safety is a cooperative effort.

+ In collaboration with Smart Safety

In collaboration with Smart Safety, the Company is continuously evaluating our safety expectations and measures so that we are always in compliance with the latest in safety standards, taking care to recognize and take corrective action when hazardous conditions and unsafe practices are identified.
