Over a century ago, the Lanehart family set out with a vision, to use their knowledge and craftsmanship to become leaders in the painting industry. Today, that vision lives on through our experienced field leadership, dedicated project managers, and highly trained workforce.
We’ve earned a reputation as a trusted resource for asset preservation, aesthetic maintenance, and restoration. From casinos and stadiums to shopping malls and neighborhood grocery stores, our construction team brings decades of diverse painting experience to every project.
We’re proud to have partnered with the South’s leading architects and contractors to help shape our local communities and the surrounding region. At Lanehart, we don’t just paint buildings, we build trust, project after project.
BRIEF HISTORY

1901
Lanehart Painting Company is founded by Richard Alexander Lanehart in Wilkinson County, Mississippi, performing residential painting and wallpaper installation.

1910
Lanehart Painting Company moves to Convention Street in Baton Rouge, LA.

1935
Adam Lanehart, son of RA Lanehart, becomes President. The company diversifies, adding light commercial work and later moving to America Street in Downtown Baton Rouge.

1976
Led by Adam Lanehart Jr., John Lanehart & Brad Lanehart, Lanehart Inc. is established and becomes a commercial-only painting contractor. The company is located on South Choctaw street in Baton Rouge.

1993
Lanehart moves to its present-day location in South Baton Rouge.

2001
To better serve New Orleans and the surrounding area, the New Orleans division is launched.

2013
A partnership with the Smart Safety Group is formed to handle the companies safety compliance and training.

2017
Scott Lanehart, a 5th generation family owner, becomes President.

2018
Lanehart’s second office is established in Mandeville, Louisiana, supporting the New Orleans division.

LEED Compliance
Architects and owners pursuing LEED-certified projects can count on us as a knowledgeable and reliable partner. As sustainable construction becomes increasingly common, our project managers and superintendents are well-versed in LEED requirements and possess the necessary tools to ensure full compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Lead-Safe Certified
Federal law requires painting contractors to be lead-safe certified when working in facilities built before 1978 where children are routinely present. We maintain active EPA certification and are fully qualified to perform restoration work in these environments. Our team follows strict protocols to safely manage and contain previously applied lead-based coatings, ensuring the safety of occupants and compliance with all regulations.
WASTE & HAZARDOUS PAINT MATERIALS
All materials deemed hazardous are properly disposed or recycled as per Louisiana DEQ guidelines and all applicable local, state & federal laws. Our company has an ongoing partnership with Safety-Kleen and C-K Associates to educate and ensure compliance.
